Practice Routines
Outfield Routine before Game
Hit ball to left fielder.
Left fielder throws to second baseman covering second base.
Hit ball to left fielder.
Left fielder throws to second baseman covering second base.
Hit ball to center fielder.
Center fielder throws to third baseman.
Hit ball to center fielder.
Center fielder throws to third baseman.
Hit ball to right fielder.
Right fielder throws to third baseman.
Hit ball to right fielder.
Right fielder throws to third baseman.
Hit ball to left fielder.
Right fielder throws to center fielder.
Hit ball to left fielder.
Right fielder throws to center fielder.
Hit ball to center fielder.
Right fielder throws to center fielder.
Hit ball to center fielder.
Right fielder throws to center fielder.
Hit ball to right fielder.
Right fielder throws to center fielder.
Hit ball to right fielder.
Right fielder throws to center fielder.
Hit the ball in front of each outfielder, and make it an easy throw for the fielder.
Outfield and Infield routines before a ball game are to warm up and to build confidence.
Infield Practice Routine
Consists of Coach hitting eight rounds. Make this a sharp, snappy drive.
Round 1
Hit ball directly to third baseman.
Third baseman throws to first baseman.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Catcher throws to third baseman.
Third baseman throws to catcher.
Hit ball directly to short stop.
Short stop throws to first baseman.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Catcher throws to short stop covering second base.
Short stop throws to catcher.
Hit ball directly to second baseman.
Second baseman throws to first baseman.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Catcher throws to second baseman covering second base.
Second baseman throws to catcher.
Hit ball directly to first baseman.
First baseman throws to short stop covering second base.
Short stop throws back to first baseman covering first base.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Catcher throws to first baseman.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Rounds 2 & 3
Same except the ball is hit a little to the left of the field in Round 2 and a little to the right of the field in Round 3.
Round 4
Hit ball to third baseman, third baseman throws to second baseman covering second base.
Second baseman throws to first baseman.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Catcher throws to third baseman.
Third baseman throws to catcher.
Hit ball to short stop, short stop throws to second baseman covering second base.
Short stop throws to first baseman.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Catcher throws to short stop covering second baseman.
Short stop throws to catcher.
Hit ball to first baseman, first baseman throws to short stop covering second base.
Short stop throws to first baseman.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Catcher throws to first baseman.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Hit ball to second baseman, second baseman throws to short stop covering second base.
Short stop throws to first baseman.

Same as Round 4. (Hit good double-play balls.)

Hit slow roller to third baseman.
Third baseman throws to first baseman and stays in shallow position.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Hit ball to third baseman.
Third baseman throws to catcher and runs off the field.
Hit slow roller to short stop.
Short stop throws to first baseman and stays in shallow position.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Hit ball to short stop.
Short stop throws to catcher and runs off the field.
Hit slow roller to second baseman.
Second baseman throws to first baseman and stays in shallow position.
First baseman throws to catcher.
Hit ball to second baseman.
Second baseman throws to catcher and runs off the field.
Hit slow roller to first baseman.
